In the USA we use faceless simple figures like this on our warning signs.

In Japan there are a lot more cute cartoony figures cheerily warning you that danger lies beyond.

Usually these signs communicate their message very clearly. But the alternative meanings can be fun.

Angrytower versus Little Boy is too predictable. I'm waiting for Angrytower versus Godzilla for a real fight.

You would have to be a really bad driver to miss this construction detour. The flashing lights had a little Vegas feel to them.

Safety first at this construction site. The standard construction safety dude cartoon is a guy wearing a blue jacket and a yellow helmet on his big round head. The construction sites actually do have safety dudes that look like that (except for the big round head !) on site.

Don't try to retrieve that hat yourself, the friendly station master has a special tool to pluck it from the tracks. Even the station master wouldn't go down there !

Once you get a girlfriend, be sure to tell everyone.

Kids - don't be nerds, there are better things to do than snap photos of trains.
